NEW DRE REQUIREMENTS

In an effort to reduce the amount of time it takes to obtain a real estate license, legislation has been passed which allows people enrolled in an approved Real Estate Principles course to apply for the real estate license examination before having completed the course. 

Effective immediately, students are no longer required to show proof of completion for their Real Estate Principles course.  Students will now sign a certification statement on the Real Estate Salesperson Examination Application (RE400A) to certify their enrollment.  Students will be required to submit proof of completion of the Real Estate Principles course (Statutory Course Completion Certificate) before the license is issued.

Additionally, the Department of Real Estate now allows license applicants to submit their fingerprints after applying to take the real estate examination.  Previously all applicants were required to submit their fingerprints after passing the license examination.  A Live Scan Service Request (RE237) is available from the Department of Real Estate.
